In the swamps of Lerna, I face the Hydra, whose heads multiply with every strike. With my nephew Iolaus at my side, we scorch the necks before new heads can grow. I slay the immortal one and dip my arrows in its deadly blood. Yet Eurystheus denies me credit, calling my victory impure because I did not fight alone.
