13: THE DESERT AND THE GARDEN

We wed in secret among the Phaeacians, with the Golden Fleece as our bridal cloth. Lost again, we carry the Argo across the burning sands of Libya for twelve days beneath the sun. The Hesperides appear to us, weeping for their stolen golden apples, and Triton rises from the sea to show us the way forward. Hope returns as the horizon shimmers with light.
