6: ATTACK OF THE HARPIES

We reach the land of Phineus, a blind prophet tormented by winged monsters who steal his food. The sons of the North Wind chase the Harpies away, freeing him from endless hunger. In gratitude, Phineus warns us of the deadly Symplegades, the clashing rocks that devour passing ships. With Athena’s aid and a dove to guide our path, we slip through by a breath’s width.
