8: Aphrodite: Goddess of love

I am Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, born from seafoam as I rise upon a shell pulled by swans. Around me flutter the winged Erotes scattering petals, while Eros, my son, aims his arrows toward the hearts of gods and men. In one hand I hold the golden Apple of Discord, awarded to me by Paris of Troy. The Charities and the Horai attend me, embodying grace, dance, and the turning of the seasons.
