The armies face off before Troy. Paris challenges the Achaeans, then retreats at the sight of Menelaus, until Hector shames him into the duel for Helen and her treasury. The two fight fiercely. Menelaus's spear tears through Paris's shield, his sword shatters on Paris's helmet, and he drags him toward the Achaean lines by the strap, until Aphrodite snaps it and whisks Paris away to his bedchamber, bringing Helen to him there. Agamemnon declares Menelaus the winner and demands Helen's return, not knowing Paris still lives.
