One generation before the Trojan War, Poseidon and Apollo are forced by Zeus to serve King Laomedon, building Troy’s mighty walls, but when the king refuses their promised wages, the gods send plague and a sea monster in revenge. As his daughter Hesione is offered as sacrifice, Heracles arrives, slays the beast, and is likewise betrayed, prompting him to return later with an army, sack Troy, kill Laomedon, and spare only the young Priam, who will one day rule during the Trojan War.
