12: Hermes: Messenger of the Gods

I am Hermes, messenger of Zeus, wearing winged sandals and carrying the caduceus with its entwined serpents. Born in a cave in Arcadia, I craft the first lyre from a tortoise shell and exchange it with Apollo for peace. I guide travelers, merchants, and souls of the dead across the boundaries of all realms. My son Pan plays his pipes in the mountains, echoing the freedom of the wild.
