15: Dionysus: God of Festivities

I am Dionysus, god of wine, revelry, and transformation, crowned with ivy and holding the pinecone-tipped thyrsus. Around me dance the Maenads in ecstatic frenzy and satyrs who follow the rhythm of Pan’s pipes. Silenus, my old companion, raises his cup beside me as vines and leopards wind through the scene. Through ecstasy and ritual, I blur the line between mortal and divine.
