12: DEATH OF THESEUS

When I return to Athens, I find my city turned against me, my throne stolen, my people in revolt. I seek refuge on Scyros, where King Lycomedes greets me with deceitful smiles. He lures me to a cliff’s edge and casts me down to my death. Pride has brought me glory and ruin alike, and in the end, the fall is all that remains.
