I wander the earth, hollow and faithless, refusing to honor Dionysus or take joy in mortal life. The Maenads find me in their wild revels and mistake my sorrow for defiance. In frenzy, they tear me apart, my blood mingling with the earth. Still my severed head sings her name as the river carries it away.
